Milking Learning Curve

I was talking to a friend of mine that milk’s her goat’s, and she asked me if I was milking the right way.  I said I gently pull down and out come the milk.    I got an OH NO!!! That’s not the way it is done.  Your supposed to grip the teat with your, thumb and forefinger, trapping the milk and then your supposed to make a fist around the teat and squeeze.   The wrong way, is to grip with your thumb and forefinger and slide your finger’s down the teat.  From what she said and what I read, doing it this way, can cause damage to the udder, but squeezing with a fist does not.   So I tried it with the new way of doing it, while I was able to get some out( Maybe a Tablespoon’s worth), it’s not as easy as the way I learned.
