Atlanta Temple Open House April 9th-23rd

Monday, we as a family went to the LDS Atlanta Temple Open House.  I have been there several times before, but was usually a little harried to really take the time to enjoy the peace that can be felt.  There was an 11 minute video, followed by a tour of the temple.  It was nice to be able to go and at least for a little while, forget the cares of the world.   As members of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I think that sometimes we take for granted the connection that we feel to God and that he really is our constant companion.  They have redone a lot at the temple, new artwork, they took out the rentals unless your doing baptisms, they have new lighting and everything.  The chandler’s look like they belong in some castle or fancy theater.   They were absolutely the most awesome thing I have seen.  For those of you who might not know, for members of the church, a temple is the most sacred place on earth.   We believe that when we are in the temple, that we can be closer to God and in turn be better able to understand what the Lord wants us to do for him.  It’s also where when we are found worthy, can be sealed to our families for time and all eternity, not just until death do us part.   While the Atlanta Temple is not my favorite temple or even the temple, I wanted to get married in,  IT IS a temple that is SPECIAL to me, because in May my husband and I will celebrate 13 years of marriage that started the day we got married in the Atlanta Temple.
